"I'm not going to church looking for God.
I'm going to worship the God who came looking for me!"

Come Visit

It's a challenging time for many to choose to visit a new church.

Nervous to visit.

Prepare for a visit.

Many people spend a good amount of time thinking (fretting?) about going to visit a church.  Maybe they want their kids in a church.  They perhaps long for the connection they remember, or have heard about.  Maybe they even miss the sense of unity in corporate worship.  Yet...

Things People Think About Church

These are actual things people have said...
Tattoo Guy
Tattoos

"When you go to a church, you have to cover up your tattoo."

This is of no concern.  Tattoos are art.  God is literally the source of our creativity.

All fine to wear
Dress Code

"Don't wear a hat!"  "Don't wear sleeveless..." "Don't...."  "You MUST wear..."

Nope.  Wear what you wish.  If you want to wear your favorite old band shirt, fine.  If you have a fancy suit you want to wear, also fine.  Etc.

Conformity

"You do what everyone else is doing.  When they stand, stand, when they sit, sit etc."

Also no.  Not required.  If it makes you comfortable, great.  If not, no problem.  Lots of people don't (or can't) stand at "normal" times.  Some people stand when everyone else is sitting.  It's fine.

You Late!
Running Late

"If you have to leave early, you better not go at all."  "They all will stare at you if you come in late!"

Punctuality is nice, but running late or having to leave before the official ending is really no big deal.  It happens to everybody.

A somewhat humorous step-by-step process to visiting

  1. Decide to visit. You don't have to be completely comfortable to try something if if you know that there is no negative consequences to the effort.  We want your visit to be a great one and will do what we can to make you comfortable.
  2. Leave your house. As long as you get to LFC before the service ends, it seems worth the trip.  Of course, it would be better to arrive even before things begin so you can meet a person or two, but that is up to you.
  3. Plan your driving route. Our map page makes this pretty easy.  There's not much traffic out our way to plan around.
  4. Plan your walking route. This one is really easy!  When you walk in the front doors, at the main covered entrance, just keep walking straight ahead through the foyer... and that's it! Also, the rooms of the church building have signs to help you find things.  To visit the restrooms, go to the right (south) down the hall that you came in and then turn left just before the water fountains.  The restrooms are to your right.
  5. Greeting variables.  Give us an idea (or just tell us) if want to be greeted from a distance, up close (you know, normal close, not close-talker close) with a handshake, etc.  Tell the greeter (our greeters are super low pressure people!) and we'll do everything we can to make things happen at a level that you are comfortable with!
  6. Worship.  It is a word we don't use much in our culture.  A word that we basically never use, but we do live it out a in our lives.  We ascribe worth to many things in our life; from sports to our work.  From the next video game, to getting the newest gear.  God made us to enjoy life, but we function best when we come to know that we were made to worship Him first, and enjoy the other things after that.
  7. Fellowship.  This is another church-y word.  We just like hanging out with each other!  We invite you to do the same. You don't have to leave the second things are officially over.  We'd like to get to know you.  But again.  Zero pressure.

Our Next Sunday Service

Just like this timer running can stress you out, if you let it.  Deciding to visit church can be stressful... Or, just decide to come and see what comes of it.  We believe that we are made for community.  Admittedly we are biased, but we feel that church can be the best that community has to offer.  Visit our family.
