"I'm not going to church looking for God.
I'm going to worship the God who came looking for me!"
Many people spend a good amount of time thinking (fretting?) about going to visit a church. Maybe they want their kids in a church. They perhaps long for the connection they remember, or have heard about. Maybe they even miss the sense of unity in corporate worship. Yet...
"When you go to a church, you have to cover up your tattoo."
This is of no concern. Tattoos are art. God is literally the source of our creativity.
"Don't wear a hat!" "Don't wear sleeveless..." "Don't...." "You MUST wear..."
Nope. Wear what you wish. If you want to wear your favorite old band shirt, fine. If you have a fancy suit you want to wear, also fine. Etc.
"You do what everyone else is doing. When they stand, stand, when they sit, sit etc."
Also no. Not required. If it makes you comfortable, great. If not, no problem. Lots of people don't (or can't) stand at "normal" times. Some people stand when everyone else is sitting. It's fine.
"If you have to leave early, you better not go at all." "They all will stare at you if you come in late!"
Punctuality is nice, but running late or having to leave before the official ending is really no big deal. It happens to everybody.
